Summer laundry challenges
I don't like doing a lot of laundry. But I do a lot of laundry. Still, I get behind.
One VERY hot day two weeks ago I showed up to class in a long sleeve shirt and tights. Someone asked if I was cold. "Nope", I said. "I just haven't done the laundry."
For some reason, they found this funny.
When you walk as much as I do, with as many people as I do, it's important to smell reasonable. Notice I did not say sweet. That would be asking too much. So, on that day, instead of wearing slightly soiled shorts and short sleeve shirt, I opted for the clean long sleeve shirt and tights.
It was a matter of thoughtfulness for my fellow walkers.
In any case, I realize that I have never discussed laundry on this blog and it's high time I do.
One important tip I learned long ago is to rinse workout wear with white vinegar before washing. It seems to work.
Of course, I could be living in some la-la land where I think I am not offending anyone with egregious smells.

No, No, you are always looking and 'smelling' very professional....BUT I can appreciate your problem of clean apparel with all your classes because my husband works out in some form everyday but has TWO pairs of favourite shorts....I just put them in with 'something' as there is always something, and hang them to dry naturally on door knob of laundry room. Takes no time out of day as I pass by washer all day long so I have at least 12 hours to retrieve them to get them hung on knob overnite!
With two power walkers and golfers in the house the technical fabric laundry loads are bigger than anything others. While I like to think that my clothing doesn't smell, I can't say the same about shirts worn by my other half.
Recently I heard a tip about using vinegar in the wash. Add it to the fabric softener dispenser and while neutralizing the odours it will also work as a fabric softener. It seems to be working on the smell and does cut the static.
